We are on the move!

We are on the move!

2018 brings exciting changes to Troupes.  We are sadly closing the Great South Road store, but fear not we aren't disappearing.  Like a monarch butterfly caterpillar we have transformed and morphed into something new.   The last day the store will be open is Friday 2nd February, we will then begin the transfer of the store to our new Pahurehure home base.  Workshops will now be held in our home studio and at pop up locations. Then the final step was to revive the leather tops. For this I applied hemp oil with a small natural bristled brush, or you can use a soft lint free cloth. We call hemp oil liquid gold and when you use it for the first time you'll understand. It has to be one of the best multi purpose oils around. The act of cleaning and sanding lets me get to know the piece.  I learn its little nuisances which help me decide how too finish it. Giving your furniture that little bit of TLC at the beginning will ensure the painted surface is durable. If you take shortcuts then you could end up with a finish that doesn't last.
